Apples to Cider

Town Hall Meeting Sept 1

Willa has plans to attend the Town Hall meeting on 9/1. There is great interest in learning what we can do to protect local organic farms, sustainable agriculture, and protecting the land and each other.

FREE Showing of “Vanishing of the Bees”

What would happen if honeybees suddenly disappeared from the Earth? Come watch the FREE regional premiere of the documentary film, “Vanishing of the Bees”. The film looks at the declining bee populations worldwide and comes to some distressing conclusions.

On Saturday, August 21 at 7 pm, there will be a FREE showing of the documentary film “Vanishing of the Bees”!

The movie will be shown at Spoutwood Farm, Glen Rock, PA. This movie is free courtesy of Spoutwood Farm and the York County Beekeepers Association.

FREE Showing of FOOD, Inc.

On Thursday, August 19 at 7 pm, there will be a FREE showing of the movie FOOD, Inc.! This famous documentary is about how our food is raised, genetically modified seeds, chemicals and pesticides, CAFO’s etc. A MUST SEE FOR EVERYONE, it is a real eye opener!!!!

The movie will be shown at the Shrewsbury Township Building, 11505 Susquehanna Trail, Glen Rock, PA.

Talk with your Senators and Congressmen in Person during their August Recess (Aug. 9 – Sept. 10)

1. Tell your Senators to Amend or Oppose S.510, the Food Safety Modernization Act. S.510 poses a very serious threat to the local, nutrient-dense food movement.

2. Tell Your Senators and Congressman to Support USDAs Proposed Rules for Fair Play in Livestock and Poultry Markets. Urge your legislators to support the USDA proposed rules that restore competition and contract fairness to livestock and poultry markets.
