“Last week was really busy. We had 97 visitors during the “Made in America Tours.” Most took the self-guided tour of the store and the farm, but Bill and I enjoyed leading a few guided tours. We love Sonnewald and delight in sharing it. If you missed us, you can take a self-guided tour any time during business hours. The tour brochures are in the foyer and at the registers. If you have a group of 8 or more we may be able to schedule a guided tour. Send your requests to events@sonnewald.org or ask for Diana 717-225-3825.
We also had a booth at the Codorus Blast. I especially liked all the animal education. It’s great to see families outdoors learning about bats, birds of prey, visiting Bob’s Critters” and “The Bug Man.”‘ Learning to appreciate all God’s creatures is an important step to living more sustainably.
We hope to get some sheet mulching done in the areas we weeded for the tour. We’ll be using newspaper, cardboard, leaves, wood chips, and what whatever else will block the weeds now and feed the soil as it decomposes. Want to help? Contact us: info@sonnewald.org.”
